Buff That Mug Please!

No we are not talking about that viking mug that served as your metaphorical "drinking sword" during your college tenure that is now stashed in a box in the garage labeled "good 'ole days". Nor are we referring to taking out the old Porte-Cable car buffer you received for Father's day back in '99. No we are speaking on the need for you gentlemen to exfoliate that face of yours! So speak on it we shall!

Some men may wonder "what's the big deal?" Others might even feel that exfoliating is something that only women should do. I'll address both viewpoints with a simple illustration: Back in the 90's there was this iconic NBA basketball star named Michael Jordan (You might of heard of him). Well, before every game he played he would put on a brand new pair of sneakers called Air Jordan's (you might of heard of these too). Why did he do this you might ask? Because he wanted to play his best every game and win. And putting on a brand new  pair of sneaks helped him get that edge to do just that.  If you want to look, feel and perform your best, you'll want to be sure to put on your brand new skin every chance you get. And this is where exfoliation comes in. Yes gentlemen, exfoliation is a big deal and is critical to your skin care regimen.

Yes gentlemen, exfoliation is a big deal and is critical to your skin care regimen.

Exfoliation lifts away dead skin cells to reveal the newer, fresher skin cells underneath. Thus giving a more youthful refreshing glow to the skin. In turn making your face look, feel and perform at its best. In addition, exfoliating removes excess dirt and oil from congested pores helping to prevent breakouts of acne and ingrown hairs.

So where do you start? We recommend using a high-quality scrub designed for a man's face. Jack Black's Face Buff Energizing Scrub is our favorite. It not only does all the things you need a scrub to do, but also is infused with Vitamin C and Menthol to wake up your tired mug and keep it looking fresh all day.

If wanting to experience something a bit more exotic, try Triumph and Disaster's Rock & Roll Suicide. A unique blend of volcanic ash and green clay designed to naturally peel away those dead skin cells and remove sebum deposits which collect dirt and particles that create blackheads and unhealthy looking skin.

There are a few more we like such as Edwin Jagger's Facial Exfoliant and Baxter of California's Facial Scrub. But whatever you choose, be consistent. Typically you should be exfoliating your face every other day. We suggest doing this during a warm shower when your pores will most certainly be open.

Remember gentlemen, it takes 3 seconds to make a first impression, 30 minute to change it, and a lifetime to maintain it. And be it that your face is the first thing they will see, well we think you get the point. Happy exfoliating!
